Video # 6 Social Life
Remember those days of gathering with everyone you loved, strangers at times and leaving either completely drained or energized more than ever? This weeks video, Social Life, speaks very briefly to this. This week I hope to offer you some thinking points or journal prompts on what matters to you when you think about your social life.
This year has brought all of us new gifts, new experience and new ways to think about what really matters. No matter if you are an extravert, an introvert or somewhere in the middle this year has effected you. Now is the perfect time, to ensure the boundaries that work best for you are in place (with zero to no guilt) and that you are tuned in to what you need out of your social life.
Though I would consider myself more of an introvert that used to get major anxiety in large crowds, I miss it! When I traveled 100% of the time I got to see my family at least monthly, see two of my best friends monthly and all the people I worked with who I care so deeply for. I really had to fully break apart this year and rebuild my thought process on what I truly wanted. As someone with social anxiety this pandemic has been a little tough, not the part of not going out in the world but the part of when to reenter things in real life. Though I am not even close to finding the 100% solution yet I know I am on the right path to how I hope to find a healthy balance and in the meantime keep my boundaries where I need them and to continue to socialize in small pockets and from a virtual front.
How can you reframe your social life?
What type of person are you, do you need to take a lot of time after socializing to refuel or do you get energized by socializing?
Remember give yourself grace, give others grace and NO is a complete sentence
